Court blocks a vast Alaskan drilling project, citing climate dangers

A large Alaskan oil drilling project by oil giant ConocoPhillips called “Willow” has been shut down by a federal judge who stated that the Interior Department’s Bureau of Land Management’s exclusion of greenhouse gas emissions in its analysis of the environmental effects of the project was “arbitrary and capricious.”
