NNI and CPSC Publish Workshop Report on Quantifying Exposure to Nanomaterials

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has released a report summarizing the Quantifying Exposure to Engineered Nanomaterials (QEEN) from Manufactured Products, Addressing Environmental, Health and Safety Implications Workshop that was held July 7-8th, 2015 in Arlington, Virginia.

Vireo’s Dr. Jo Anne Shatkin was an invited participant discussing consumer exposure considerations. The report summarizes presentations and discussions held during the workshop regarding the quantification of engineered nanomaterial exposures. It highlights current gaps in characterization tools and techniques, exposure assessment methods, and simulation/modelling of exposures. The report concludes with a suggested path forward for bridging exposure science with toxicology.
