India turning the Tide on Marine Plastic Pollution

India has announced elimination of all single-use plastic in their country by 2022 (with an immediate ban in Delhi). Prime Minister Modi also committed to joining the UN Environment’s Clean Seas campaign. The Indian government will establish a national and regional marine litter campaign as well as a program to measure the marine plastic footprint in India’s coastal waters.

India is not alone; according to the UN, more than 50 nations are taking action to reduce plastic pollution.
