Updated OECD Test Guidelines Include Endocrine Endpoints

The OECD announced on June 25 the adoption of new and updated Test Guidelines (TG) for chemical safety testing. New Test Guidelines (TG) for in vitro methods for fish hepatic clearance were introduced (TG 319A and TG 319B) which can be used to improve in silico predictions of the test chemical bioaccumulation in fish. These new adoptions also updated the 90-day, repeated dose oral toxicity TG (408) and the prenatal developmental toxicity (PNDT) TG (414) to include endocrine-related endpoints. For more information, including which TGs have been deleted, replaced, or updated, please see the OECD announcement.
