AkzoNobel Specialty Chemicals and Renmatix Develop Biomass-based Performance Additives

AkzoNobel Specialty Chemicals and Renmatix recently announced that they are collaborating to produce biomass-based performance additives which will enhance the properties of paints and construction materials. The companies will utilize the Renmatix Plantrose® Process to create a variety of novel cellulose-based materials for commercial use. Mike Hamilton, Renmatix CEO, explained that the collaboration “is significant because it demonstrates a bright future for plant-based ingredients in the industrial materials segment”.

Renmatix was named a winner in the AkzoNobel Specialty Chemicals 2017 Imagine Chemistry Challenge.
