Skin-like Phone Case Allows Your Phone to Feel—Just in Time for Halloween
Scientist from Telecom Paris in France are showcasing a new artificial skin phone case which allows users to tickle or pinch their phones at the ACM Symposium on User Interface Software and Technology in New Orleans, USA. This skin-like phone case is able to attribute emotions to certain gestures. For example, pressure being applied to its surface is associated with anger and prolonged holding or caressing is attributed to comfort. The scientists are working to make the artificial skin more realistic by adding hair and temperature features.
