Vireo Advisors Publishes Cellulose Nanomaterials Practical Handling Guide

Vireo Advisors has created a practical handling guide for cellulose nanomaterials with the support of P3Nano – the Public Private Partnership between the USDA Forest Service and the US Endowment for Forestry and Communities to advance the commercialization of cellulose nanomaterials for all users. This publicly available document is structured for three separate audiences:

1. people who may not be working directly with cellulose nanomaterials themselves but who work with or make decisions affecting those who do (“The Essentials”)

2. people who work directly with cellulose nanomaterials and are seeking guidance to use them safely but may not need to know the details supporting how safe practices and risk assessments are developed (“Safety Practices for Cellulose Nanomaterials in the Workplace”)

3. people who want / need to know the details of toxicology, eco-toxicology, physical chemical properties/ characterization, and other research to better understand the potential hazards of cellulose nanomaterials and how this information is used for risk assessment and mitigation (“Getting into the Details”)
