PFAS Legislation Passes in House

The House of Representatives has passed legislation on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) as part of amendments to the National Defense Authorization Act. If passed in the Senate, the legislation would (1) incur liability for PFAS under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act, (2) require that PFAS be added to the Clean Water Act and (3) impose effluent limitations and pretreatment standards.
