Vireo Advisors, LLC Joins Cellular Agriculture Canada initiative with New Harvest

Cellular Agriculture Canada has been relaunched as a multi-stakeholder coalition led by New Harvest Canada joined by Vireo Advisors, LLC. Information on the updated coalition can be found at www.cellag.ca. 

In May 2023, 34 individuals from 30 organizations across the Canadian cellular agriculture ecosystem came together to strategize their collective future. 

The group discussed key opportunities and challenges facing cellular agriculture’s progress in Canada, what success could look like in a five-year and twenty-year time horizon and some critical collective actions to pursue in the near future, including the creation of a public-facing collective entity to represent the ecosystem. 

The mandate of the group is the directive that Canada can capitalize on the global movement to achieve a net-zero economy by leveraging its strengths in the emerging field of cellular agriculture.  

CAC will advance this mandate by pursuing the following six action areas:

• Developing a blueprint for Canadian leadership and success

• Policy engagement and education

• Enabling collaboration

• Attracting public and private funding

• Public engagement and education

• Purpose-built talent development

Vireo Advisors, LLC began working with New Harvest Canada 2020. We are excited to continue this work with the CAC which will be a platform where those new to cellular agriculture could learn about the Canadian players and the actions we’d like to see in the Canadian context in order for us to be global leaders in the space. At the same time, we want to provide members with an opportunity to openly collaborate in key action areas.
