Marubeni and Chuetsu Pulp & Paper, both Japanese trading firms, announced they are joining to make and sell cellulose nanofibers.

In this post, we update our knowledge on inhalation of cellulose nanocrystal (CNC) and cellulose nano/micro fibril (CNF/CMF) dusts and discuss best practices for working safely with them.  

Representatives from research and development companies, governmental agencies, universities, investment firms, and more came together in Washington, D.C. for the annual Tech Connect World 2017 on May 14-17th.

A special edition of the journal NanoImpact, A decade of Nanotoxicology Research: Impact on Human Health and the Environment 8th International Congress of Nanotoxicology, features the collaborative work of Vireo Advisor's Kimberly Ong, Jo Anne Shatkin, and James Ede along with Theodora Retsina and Kim Nelson of American Process Inc.

This year I wore the 5+ year member ribbon at the TAPPI Nanotechnology Conference. Since my first meeting in 2009 (thank you for inviting me Lori Sheremeta!), the meeting has grown from mostly academic reports and basic nanocellulose science to a diverse range of topics on the technologies,  applications, characterization and safety!
