Japanese firms to begin “nanoforest” fiber production

Marubeni and Chuetsu Pulp & Paper, both Japanese trading firms, announced they are joining to make and sell cellulose nanofibers. Chuetsu will be responsible for producing the “nanoforest” fiber and expects to start up a 100 ton per year plant this month. The material may be used in building materials, electronic devices, and cosmetics. Marubeni is developing new applications for the fiber and will be responsible for sales.
