EPA Publishes First TSCA Implementation Plan

The EPA held two public meetings in August, 2016 which examined the protocol for assessing and prioritizing chemicals which are governed under TSCA and the Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act. 81 Fed. Reg. 48789. During the meetings, discussions were held regarding the EPA’s “proposed rule on conducting risk evaluations” in order to discern the level of risk a chemical presents to health and environment. The EPA’s proposed rule to create a “risk-based process” for prioritizing chemicals was also a topic of discussion.
