Graphene-Enhanced Hiking Boots: Stronger, Harder and More Flexible

The shoe brand Inov-8 and The National Graphene Institute (University of Manchester) have partnered to produce hiking boots with graphene-enhanced rubber grips. Incorporating graphene into the rubber outsole light-weighted the boots while making the grip 50% stronger, 50% harder and 50% more elastic. Inov-8 started using graphene-enhanced materials in their trail-running and fitness shoes last summer and plans to broaden its use.
