Vireo Advisors to Host SRA Workshop on Responsible Innovation of Advanced Materials and Technologies

Vireo Advisors is hosting a virtual workshop on Sunday December 13th as part of the Society for Risk Analysis’ Annual Meeting to discuss key issues facing the responsible innovation of advanced materials and technologies.

Plenary presentations from invited experts Dr. Charles Geraci (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health), Treye Thomas (Consumer Product Safety Commission), Phil Jensen (Chubb Insurance) and Jo Anne Shatkin (Vireo Advisors) will outline current issues and considerations facing the risk analysis of prominent advanced technologies including additive manufacturing and wearable electronics.

Afternoon discussions moderated by Vireo’s Dr. James Ede will bring together stakeholders from different governmental organizations, industry, consumer advocacy organizations, and academics to discuss strategies for identifying and addressing the environmental, health and safety of advanced materials and technologies. A special effort will be made to discuss strategies for building a “safety community” for these materials and strategies for collaboration to address issues facing their risk analysis.
