Healthy Babies, Bright Futures (HBBF) is an effort of the John Merck Fund, working to limit exposures to toxic chemicals to reduce the prevalence of a variety of developmental disorders, focusing on reducing exposure to toxicants during the first 1000 days of development.

The U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) is creating a web-based program which will assist small businesses asses their compliance with occupational, health, and environmental safety standards when integrating and developing nanoscale materials.

The EPA held two public meetings in August, 2016 which examined the protocol for assessing and prioritizing chemicals which are governed under TSCA and the Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act. 81 Fed. Reg. 48789.

Several themes were explored by The Emerging Nanoscale Materials Specialty Group (ENMSG) of the Society for Risk Analysis (SRA) co-organized by Jo Anne Shatkin and Kimberly Ong with a wonderful team of collaborators in a 2014 workshop on the use of alternate testing strategies (ATS) for risk assessment of nanomaterials.

The bill, titled Act to amend the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 (CEPA) (nanotechnology) (C-287) would amend CEPA and set up procedures for “the investigation and assessment of nanomaterials”.
